Second Half Preview

After the first half of the regular season its fair to say the Dolphins have underachieved. They have a 2-7 record on the year but seem to be finding their groove as of late as they have won two in a row and haven't allowed a touchdown in two games either. The rest of the season is going to be tough however. This Sunday they host the 5-4 Bills, then visit 5-4 Dallas on Thanksgiving. After that they host the Oakland Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles followed by road games at divisional rivals Buffalo and New England before wrapping up the season at home against the Jets. Miami will most likely by the underdog in each contest but the team is playing hard and are more than capable than pulling a few upsets.

Week 11 vs Buffalo

This Sunday the Miami Dolphins will face their arch-rival Buffalo Bills. Buffalo won their last meeting in Miami 17-14 last year. This years Bills are much improved however. Buffalo is 5-4 on the year owning a victory over the New England Patriots as well. Miami's top priority is containing Bills running back Fred Jackson who has been a stellar player for them all season. Miami will face a tough Bills defense who rank second in the league with forced interceptions. It will be key for the Dolphins not to turn the ball over and if Reggie Bush continues at the rate he is going the Dolphins may pull off the upset.

Week 10 Recap

The Miami Dolphins have been absolutely awful playing at home the past few seasons. Their last home win was November 14th of last year. Powered by another solid game from Reggie Bush and solid defense the Dolphins prevailed 20-9. Bush scored 2 touchdowns and the defense forced two turnovers and did not allow a touchdown. The Dolphins face the arch-rival Bills this Sunday in Miami.

Week 10 vs Washington

The Miami Dolphins are coming off their first win and former Miami QB John Beck is still looking for his first win as a starter as he will face his former team this weekend as QB of the Redskins. Last week Miami took out seven weeks of frustration in a 31-3 stomping of Kansas City. Miami's win was the third largest margin of victory by a team 0-7 or worse. Miami now is looking for its first home win in its last seven tries. They have lost the last twelve of thirteen  games at Sun Life Stadium. washington is 1-4 all-time at Miami. Miami will have CB Vontae Davis back this week after being held out against Kansas City for showing up late to practice.

Week 9 Recap

After eight long weeks of frustration, the Miami Dolphins finally showed what they are capable of. After two straight weeks of blowing fourth quarter leads, the Dolphins scored early and then scored some more. Miami was able to jump to a 14-3 lead at halftime thanks to QB Matt Moore's two touchdown passes to TE Anthony Fasano. Miami's defense, particularly the front seven, was relentless in getting to Kansas City QB Matt Cassel, sacking him five times and forcing him out of the pocket nine times. The Chiefs entered the game having allowed 13 sacks all season, tied for sixth-best in the league. The Dolphins came out of halftime looking to build on their lead as Moore threw a 14 yard touchdown to WR Brandon Marshall folllowed by a 28 yard run by RB Reggie Bush. Miami prevailed 31-3 and will host the slumping Washington Redskins this Sunday in Miami.

Week 9 @ Kansas City

The Kansas City Chiefs, who at one point matched the Dolphins with an 0-3 record, have won four straight and are tied for the AFC West lead. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are still looking for their first win. This week the teams face off at Arrowhead where Miami has a 4-6 all-time record. But the Dolphins have been playing competitively the past few weeks and seem to play better on the road than they do at home, as been the case the past few years. But they must get something going on offense. It would help to get Reggie Bush more involved who ran for 103 yards last week against the Giants. Another key to the game is rookie center Mike Pouncey's status who went down with a neck injury last week. After Pouncey went out, QB Matt Moore was sacked four times in the fourth quarter alone. However, the Chiefs are last in the leauge with only nine sacks. If Miami can just learn to finish games in the fourth I think they have a good shot at winning this matchup.
